A holiday confection told in song, stories and poems, A CHRISTMAS PUDDING celebrates the season with lighthearted whimsy and solemn reflection. This collection of Christmas memoirs featuring tales by Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, George Bernard Shaw and more is interwoven with traditional melodies familiar from ages gone by. A CHRISTMAS PUDDING is a treasury of literary and musical gifts, a true recipe for Christmas celebration.

Katie Anderson   Katie Anderson was last seen on the Bus Barn stage as Pat Green in Breaking the Code, and she's happy to return to such a wonderful theatre. Some of her other recent performances in the Bay Area include Sorel in Hay Fever at the Pear Avenue Theatre, Poppy in Noises Off and Georgie in The Full Monty at City Lights Theatre, Agnes Gooch in Mame and Tina Jo/Gina Jo in Dearly Beloved at the Willows Theatre, and Soos in The Country Club and Rosie Pye in Humble Boy at the Dragon Theatre. She's originally from Louisiana, where she studied acting at Loyola University and earned a B.A. in English Literature from Nicholls State University. When she's not onstage, she teaches theatre to kids of all ages.


Ernestine Balisi   Ernestine Balisi is delighted to return to the Bus Barn stage after performing in A Chorus Line (Ricky) and Aida (Nehebka). Most recently she performed with Royal Caribbean International on the Nickelodeon Family Cruise, in which she shared the stage with Tom Kenny (well known for the voice of Spongebob Squarepants), as well as many of the other main stage productions on board the beautiful Mariner of the Seas (Mexican Riviera) and Freedom of the Seas (Eastern Caribbean). Other performing credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), Guys and Dolls (Adelaide), The Will Rogers Follies (Ziegfeld's Favorite), and many more! When not performing, Ernestine teaches dance throughout the Bay Area.


Samantha Bartholomew   Samantha Bartholomew is a graduate from Santa Clara University with a B.A.
in Theatre Arts. Recently she portrayed the role of Julia in a workshop
performance of a new musical, Shadows of Pompeii, with UpMarket Productions
and 42nd Street Moon. Past productions include: The Student Gypsy (Dresden)
and Plain & Fancy (Rachel), 42nd Street Moon; Rapunzel & Holiday Revue (Lucy
Barker) and Wise Women (Rose), City Lights Theater Company; The Threepenny
Opera
(Lucy Brown) and Kiss Me Kate (Lois Lane/Bianca), The Western Stage;
and The Threepenny Opera (Molly, Lucy Brown Cover), Santa Cruz Chamber
Orchestra.


Martin Gutfeldt   Martin Gutfeldt is excited to be in his very first production at Bus Barn. He recently graduated from the Foothill Theater Conservatory, where he appeared onstage in Dr. Faustus, as well as The Adding Machine and numerous one-act performances. At Foothill, Martin was also the co-manager of the student run Foothill Players for the past year. In his spare time, Martin plays saxophone for no one in particular, with the possible exception of his cats. They are his harshest critics.


Beverly Hansberry   Beverly Hansberry appeared most recently as Hold Me-Touch Me in South Bay Musical Theater’s The Producers. Other roles have included the Duchess of Plaza-Toro in The Gondoliers and Madame de Quimper-Karadec in La Vie Parisienne at Lyric Theater; General Genghis Khan Schmitz in Seussical and Hattie in Kiss Me, Kate at Sunnyvale Community Players; Armande Mangebois in The Enchanted at Foothill College Theater Arts Department; and numerous ensembles with Lyric Theater and Foothill Musical Theater. She is a lifelong choral music singer (currently with Schola Cantorum) and flutist.


Sarah Griner   Sarah B. Griner is thrilled to be making her Bus Barn debut; she has admired this company for years! Sarah has also worked with Foothill Music Theatre, Palo Alto Players, City Lights Theatre Co., Hillbarn Theatre Co., and Shady Shakespeare Theatre Co. Favorite roles include Mephistophilis from Dr. Faustus and Rosalind from As You Like It. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon and is a graduate of the Foothill Theatre Conservatory. In her spare time Sarah is a high altitude mountaineer (just trekked to Everest Base camp this past month!) and equestrian. Much love to Dad, Mom, Paul and her Nepali family.


Lucy Littlewood  

Lucy Littlewood is very excited to be making her debut with Bus Barn Stage Company! She recently graduated from the intensive 2-year Foothill Theater Conservatory, and has an associates degree in theater from Foothill College. During that time she appeared in numerous Foothill Productions including; Doctor Faustus (Lucifer), The Enchanted (Isabel), Under Milk Wood (Lily Smalls/Mae Rose Cottage) and various one-acts, including Bride of the Valkyrie (Brunhilda), which appeared in the 2009 SF Theater Arts Festival. Next, she is set to appear in Tabard Theater Company’s Bay Area premier of Hold on to Love (Lady Caroline). She thanks you for coming out to support live theater today.



Glenna Murillo   Glenna Murillo This is Glenna's fourth time "riding the bus". Two of her favorite roles here at the Bus Barn are Georgette in Pierre and Marie and Frauline Kost in
Cabaret. Other favorite roles locally include Abigail Adams in 1776, Miss Casewell in The Mousetrap, and Passenger #5 in Anything Goes, where she met her husband. Her MOST favorite role is that of mother to her little girl. Glenna was educated at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, NY (among other places).


Joesph O'Loughlin   Joseph O’Loughlin is pleased to make his Bus Barn debut in A Christmas Pudding. A former New Jersey native he has sung operatic baritone roles, such as Tonio, Scarpia, Rigoletto, with East Coast opera companies. He has also sung with several opera choruses both on the East Coast and in the Bay Area such as Festival Opera and Livermore Opera. He has studied acting extensively with Studio ACT in San Francisco.


Charles Woodson Parker   Charles Woodson Parker is excited to be making his debut at Bus Barn Stage Company. He was most recently seen in Germany as Marley in A Christmas Carol (ADG- Europe where he also served as the company’s music director) and Madame Minsk in the East Coast tour of The Mystery of King Tut (Theatreworks/USA). Charles would like to thank his friends, family and all his teachers from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Citrus College- Citrus Singers, and The Boston Conservatory (where he achieved his Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater) for all their support and knowledge.


Robyn Winslow   Robyn Winslow is thrilled to be in another Bus Barn production, having most recently been seen in Leading Ladies, Bus Stop, and Season's Greetings. Robyn has also performed with other theater companies in the area, and was last seen in Tabard's A Taffeta Wedding as Cheryl, and SBMT's The Producers, as Ulla. Brendan Bartholomew (Lighting Design) is a graduate of Santa Clara University where he received a degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in theatre. Brendan has been designing for companies in the Bay Area for the past ten years, including City Lights Theatre Company, California Theatre Center, Hillbarn, and Pear Avenue, and for special events at venues like the California Theatre and Marin Center. Brendan’s work was most recently seen at BBSC in THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO. Some of Brendan’s other BBSC favorites include ENCHANTED APRIL, OVER THE TAVERN and A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE all the way back in 2002.

Barbara J. Cannon (Artistic Director, Director has worked professionally as a director since 1991, when she directed her first show with Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City.  Since that time, she has directed over 50 productions and served as Associate Director at Hillbarn Theater from 1991-1993, as Associate Artistic Director at Palo Alto Players from 1993-1998, and currently is Artistic Director at Bus Barn Stage Company.  She has also worked as an actor, singer, costume designer, set and props designer, and teacher at Foothill College.  Barbara is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Dramatic Arts Department, and did postgraduate work at University of Hawaii, Manoa. She was awarded a 2003 Artists Fellowship for Stage Direction by Arts Council Silicon Valley.  For BBSC, she has directed 25, the most recent being BREAKING THE CODE last season and has designed a multitude of costumes, sets, and props.

Katie Coleman (Musical Director) returns to the Bus Barn Theater after several productions with Bus Barn Stage Company (A Chorus Line, Breaking Up is Hard to Do) and Los Altos Youth Theater (Lucky Duck, Anything Goes, You¹re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Aladdin Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., and The Wiz). She is a freelance musician and music director in the Bay Area and a graduate of University of the Pacific¹s Conservatory of Music. Other credits include: Becoming Britney (FringeNYC), Peggy the Musical reading (Jewel Theatre Company), They¹re Playing Our Song and Really Rosie (California Theatre Center), Hair (Stagelight Productions), Into the Woods, Cats, and Rent (Children¹s Musical Theatre San Jose), Thoroughly Modern Millie, Urinetown and Little Shop of Horrors (Lincoln High School). Katie is also a keyboard sub for Wicked SF, and musical director at The Ranch Performing Arts Training Center (artsranch.com).

Ron Gasparinetti (Set Designer) was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He attended Essex Catholic High School and Montclair State University where he earned his BFA degree in technical theatre with a scenic design concentration. Ron worked the night shift for the Newark, NJ police department while attending college. He graduated in 1986. Ron has worked steadily since then as a technical director, scenic designer, lighting designer, props designer and production manager-sometimes all at once! He even forayed into the field of acting for a short time. Ron has been involved with over 400 productions in the last 30 years. He currently resides in California on the San Francisco Peninsula. In February of 2007, Ron joined forces with Charles McKeithan to form a new company: THRUST Scenic Design & Construction. To date, the company has built a clientele of 12 theatre companies in the Bay Area and has designed and built over 75 productions.

Charles McKeithan (Master Carpenter) has been a handyman by day and an actor by night in the local Bay Area for the past ten years. Last year he joined forces with Ron Gasparinetti to form THRUST Scenic Design and Construction. He now has the pleasure of earning a living working in theater full time to help bring Ron's creative visions to life. For more on Charles visit www.charlesmck.com.

Nancy Park (Stage Manager) is super excited to be back at Bus Barn Stage Company stage managing A Christmas Pudding and continuing to add to her list of excellent productions, which includes the hilarious The Importance of Being Earnest and the charming Enchanted April. Nancy has been stage managing around the Bay Area for over 10 years and remembers one of her first productions, The Velveteen Rabbit, at PYT. She has also worked as a touring stage manager at CTC, traveling along the western United States producing children's classics such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel and The Frog Prince. Tons of love to my friends and family, life is bleak and grey without you.

Marta Stella Wendlinger (Costume Designer) recently returned from a six-year hiatus in Barcelona. She joins us for the first time and is thrilled to be part of the Bus Barn Stage Co. team. She's designed costumes for the New Conservatory Theatre Center in San Francisco, Quixotic Players in Moraga, Hapgood Theatre in Antioch as well as a few Bay Area film production companies. In addition to designing costumes, she owns a personal style consulting business and offers interactive fashion conferences to entrepreneurs and women¹s groups.
